As I mentioned last night, I am taking a day off from the Fivefingers today as my calves are all sore and knotted up and I have some hot-spots on the balls of my feet. So, this morning I threw on my boots that I like to take to the trails in and I set out.
Dang, boots are heavy...
I totally noticed the different muscle groups in use when wearing boots. My thighs took up a lot more of the effort to lift them and I totally could feel the impact change. That being said, doing the Fivefingers also changed my stride in boots. The heel strike was less pronounced and I seemed to be walking softer.
You certainly notice the padding in the sole too. Funny how much of a difference it is.
Anyway, just wanted to let you know...
